Warm base layer set featuring excellent moisture regulation and thermal properties Pesso Merino | MERINO Features: – extremely elastic, – does not restrict movement, – allows moisture to pass to outer layers, keeping the body dry, – very breathable, – dries quickly, – special seams do not irritate the skin, – natural antibacterial protection – very warm Composition: 80% functional polyester, 20% merino wool Sizes: XS-4XL. Colour: black Merino sheep wool is a particularly high-quality wool. Products made from 'curly' merino wool are fluffy, soft, which enhances their ability to insulate heat. Warmth is felt in both cold and hot weather. Wool absorbs moisture very well: if the air humidity is 100%, the wool can absorb up to 40 % moisture without feeling wet. When wool absorbs moisture, a process occurs in it many chemical reactions release heat into the environment while the fabric itself stays warm, allowing the body to adapt to temperature fluctuations. Moisture evaporates from wool fairly slowly: the outer wool layer (cuticle) consists of tiny micropores that allow the fabric to breathe – the pores are so tiny that water, in the form of droplets, cannot penetrate the surface of the fabric, so moisture escapes only through the upper pores, preventing water from entering inside. The human body regulates body temperature by increasing surface blood flow and, if needed, sweating, so the unique property of wool to allow air and water vapor to pass provides a feeling of comfort. The curls of wool fibers give elasticity and flexibility. Elasticity ensures that thermal insulation does not disappear even over a long time. when wearing the garment. Such products do not wrinkle and quickly return to their original shape. Wool is easy to care for: due to ongoing chemical reactions, wool cleans easily. Ventilating woolen clothes eliminates sweat or other odors. Merino wool is suitable even for people with allergies: wool consists of the same protein substances as human skin – proteins and keratins.
